The Independent Musicians CD Reviews
Welcome to the EvO:R Independent CD Reviews Section.
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce ourselves to everyone. The EvO:R review section
features reviews from various independent musicians that submit material for our consideration.
I wanted to let you know a little
about our review teams collective thoughts on music. It's important to let the people that we review know how we
think of their music and how we listened to their creations.
First of all, we strongly believe that if your music stinks then
the world should know about it! After all, you have the nerve to charge as much for
your stuff as the majors do so it better be pretty damn good. If your material is good, we'll be glad to
tell the world. I We will hold nothing back! That is a promise.

Living In The Acoustic Projects
by
Sounding Rick
Reviewed by: LOUISELY D’AMORE
This is Rick Reynold’s first acoustic CD and it certainly doesn’t disappoint – he still brings that high energy feel that he’s known for and the quality of the songs can’t be questioned.
The opening track, well after the spoken intro, is called "It's a Shame" and it certainly wasn't - it was a great frothy number which bounced along and had me jigging about in my seat. The backing vocals from Gwen McCrae sounded great.
Apart from the odd bit of strings and birdsong, the whole CD is wonderfully simple with just guitar and vocals - it reminds me a little of John Mayer and maybe Ben Taylor. There are some fantastic and more unusual chords being used which gives the sound a much more complex but totally accessible feel. There were also some very funny lyrics throughout.

Conclusion:
My only criticism would be that I felt that some of the backing vocals did sound to be slightly out of tune but
all in all, this is a fantastic CD and will certainly have you searching through Rick’s back catalogue!
