SOUL TREE
ONE PART LONLEY, ONE PART FIRE
A review by Jef Peace - Senior Partner, PeaceWork Music
Soul Tree is a fun romp through the Southern United States. A blend of country, rock, blues, funk and at times
bluegrass and rockabilly.
A lot of talent and heart went into these songs, both in their writing/composition and
in their performance.
Band History
Born of rock and roll fire, sensuality, and passion, Soul Tree emerged on the Minnesota music scene
in August of '07. They quickly establish themselves as a talented and fun power trio definitely
worth seeing. As a band, Soul Tree played 30 shows in the first 6 months of their inception.
Their set is like a chameleon, adapting with the crowds and covering a spectrum of rock from The
Police to Led Zeppelin to the Bee Gees. As well as being able to entertain any crowd on any night,
Soul Tree has written and recorded many original works that get people dancing just as well, if not
better than any of the 60 cover songs they play.
Back to the CD Review
Clint Brandau provides the backbone of the songs with precise and at times quite tasty drums. He also provides backup
vocals and does so with the same aplomb as his percussion.
Last, but certainly not least, Anthony (no last name given)
weaves a special kind of magic with basslines that are both intricate and appropriate. I've seldom heard bass this
tasty and I'd like to hope future projects showcase his quiet talent a bit more.
Arguably, the last track on this cd
"Big Boots" is the strongest commercially and it's almost pure country. I'm not saying Soul Tree should focus on
country music, not by a long shot. In fact, the one criticism I have of this specific project is perhaps they
should revisit this song and try to funkify a bit more to be in keeping with the other music they've created.
This is a cd that will not go into the donation pile now that I'm finished with the review; it is going straight
into my personal collection and will be listened to over and over again.
Conclusion
Soul Tree has found one more fan in New York.

I was wondering if you could forward this quick e-mail to Jeff Peace....
he made one typo... The drummer on the Albums Name is "Clint Brandau".
Brad Zampich was our live drummer. Only if it is easy to fix. If not, no worries.
Thanks a ton. You will be getting our next effort when completed.
