Love is the Power
by
Richard Anthony Goberville
Reviewed by: Rory Richardson

This is Anthony’s latest release “Love is the Power” released in 2011. Anthony hails from Illinois and I get the impression venturing to his website he is a gifted physics teacher. Gifted in the sense that he is an artist on the side and brings much to the table with respect to songwriting, playing and his ability to connect with fans though his music and creativity.
Anthony has done an amazing job carving out a unique niche for himself within his amazing songwriting craft and a sincere/honest approach. Right from the start his emotional impact and world class playing/songwriting cannot be called into question. The opening track: “We Belong” is an amazing prelude of sorts that will gently lead you by the hand down a timeless musical journey that I would describe as emotionally invigorating and engaging. The whole CD is wonderfully simple yet wonderfully complex at the same time. It reminds me a little of Enrique Iglesias, Randy Newman, and even Boz Skaggs. There are some fantastic moments on display here which gives this CD a very accessible feel emotionally. What I like most - this CD does not attempt to try to hide the truth - rather exploit a bad situation via music and comedic genius. This CD also has deep musical depth and incorporates musical elements typical of Jazz, Pop, Ambient Pop, and Modern Pop Fusion. Favorite song is the title track. I had this track on repeat mode in the car after a bad day at work – no joke, true story folks!

Conclusion:
Richard Anthony (Goberville) is brilliant! Brilliant not just the way they represent
“Music Meets Passion” but in his amazing musical personality and playing style as well.
Rating:
This CD is full of uplifting and inspiring songs that will change your view on life and how you look at everyday experiences.
There are many styles of songs found on here, but Richard’s heart and soul can be felt in each song.
