The Independent Musicians CD Reviews
Welcome to the EvO:R Independent CD Reviews Section.
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce ourselves to everyone. The EvO:R review section
features reviews from various independent musicians that submit material for our consideration.
I wanted to let you know a little
about our review teams collective thoughts on music. It's important to let the people that we review know how we
think of their music and how we listened to their creations.
First of all, we strongly believe that if your music stinks then
the world should know about it! After all, you have the nerve to charge as much for
your stuff as the majors do so it better be pretty damn good. If your material is good, we'll be glad to
tell the world. I We will hold nothing back! That is a promise.

Beauty Queen
by
Molly Thomason
Reviewed by: Rory Richardson
This is Thomason’s second CD entitled “Beauty Queen” released in 2011 & it certainly doesn’t disappoint. This is one Canadian artist that brings to the table effective songwriting coupled with a graceful & passionate vocal delivery. Musical flavors presented: Acoustic pop, Americana, Rock & even Folk.
The opening track "All Down the Highway” sets the stage rather well for this CD.
It was a great intro piece which bounced along well & had me eager for what lied ahead.
All in all the whole CD is wonderfully simple & pure. Musical overtones reminded me a
bit of Melissa Etheridge, Bonnie Rait & even fellow Canadian Jewel.
Personally I see her as a modern day Joni Mitchell.
There are some fantastic pieces on this CD which gives this musical production modern poppy-type vibe. Thomason’s vocal presence works very well track for track, & her band just grooves well together. She clearly has all the Singer/Songwriter qualities needed to gravitate a fan base. Favorite piece on the CD is a toss up between Amsterdam & the Title track.

Conclusion:
This CD will simply make your day a brighter place.
The strong suit of Thomason is her vocal passion, strong musical variety & Range of emotions you will be exposed to. It’s obvious she feels comfortable letting it all hang out on every track. At the end of the CD you will find yourself inspired, invigorated & happier than you were 45 minutes prior.
