What if Charlie’s Angels could sing? The answer to that question is
Ripe, a hot East Village based band performing at various venues in
NYC. Songwriters Christa McNamee and Dan Bar Hava first joined forces in
November of 1999. Those early collaborations grew into an eight-piece band.
Christa’s vocal styling have been compared to a Cranberries/Paula Cole/Dido mix.
Dan dubs the music "progressive pop", citing influences such as Moby and Enigma.

Trance Blackman
"Every artist has their own significant way of saying something that someone will
hear when they need to. For example, when I first listened to John Lennon's Imagine,
I knew immediately how it made me feel. It brought out certain emotions and thoughts
like 'exactly... that's what I would say too!'. I have since remade that song in my own
way too, because the message is something I strongly believe in. Everyone is the same,
everyone is equal. Everyone is loved." So who does he sound like? "Well, I've had people compare me to artists like Phil
Collins, Savage Garden, Enrique Iglesias, George Michael and even Bon Jovi. I don't
see that myself. But it's interesting to get that mixed feedback. With such a varied
bag of comparisons, one might say I have a 'unique' sound!"

2nd Story Band
2ND STORY's stage ad-libbing, instrumental improvisations, haunting harmonies and
ease with a wide variety of styles, not to mention Meagan's expressive and smoky
vocal interpretations, have delighted college, club and festival audiences for over
twenty years. Gary Loewenthal, a four year band member and a veteran of blues, rock,
alternative, and Bossa Nova bands, spices up the sound with his soulful and driving
guitar "licks". And along with Meagan's propulsive bass and Geoff's many guitar flavors
and multi instrumental garnishes they fire up a strong melodic groove. You are not
often likely to hear a band so convincingly and so expertly blend jazz forms, funky
blues and world rhythms into such a tasty gumbo!!!

J.D.A.
JDA is more original without leaving their Brit-Pop roots.
Having lived in England some years back, this tune reminded
me of walks on the moors, dinners in rural pubs and the shrinking
pound years. Took me somewhere. That's good. 'What Has Gone Before,'
I assume, is titled to refer to sounds of the Brit-Pop wonder years.
If not, it works out fab, because this instrumental medley of sounds
is an aural documentary of famous '60s rock album 'feels.' Harrison
slide-guitar riffs, Moody Blues embellished movements, Blind Faith
pianos, you name it.

Jeza
Jeza's soothing voice has mellowed with time, and taken on a comforting,
avuncular tone. It blends well with the lethargic Latin rhythms and relaxing New Age
atmospheres of these songs.. Listen.com....
" I
also love to play live and have treaded water in that arena for many years,
but I am not of the opinion that that is the most effective way to reach a
large international audience. Even if it's only one person at a time "..

Jen Elliott
Jen Elliott makes her professional debut with City Canyons.
The singer/songwriter—a leggy strawberry blonde—comes off
as the all-American girl but there's a subtle heat and power (and
a little mischief) to her voice—plus charisma that just won't quit.
Whether singing the tongue-in-cheek The Secret's Out
(Husick/Lloyd/Ettinger/Elliott), the angst-ridden Love and the
Rebel (Husick/Lloyd) or the growly, swamp-fevered Curse on You
(McConnaughey/Lloyd/Elliott), Jen brings color and emotion to
every tune she touches.
