Sonny LaRosa and America's Youngest Jazz Band recently won a gold medal at the International Music Festival and they were also the youngest jazz band ever to be invited to perform at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Marius is one of the most talented young Romanian rock, blues and jazz guitarists. The site contains everything about Marius, pictures, news, videos and song samples. Marius is open to any kind of musical project. Marius has played in a few rock bands - Gral, Thamyras, Romania's biggest country band - Desperado, Headliner - fusion-rock and many other solo projects. Long ago (late 60's), Bob Flynn and Bill Nowik met in a Waltham music club. The club had a common stage that musicians could meet and jam with other musicians. Anyone going to the club would often find Bob and Bill on stage jamming with other musicians. For the next twenty plus years, Bob and Bill played together in numerous bands doing cover and original tunes. When one of their cover bands broke up, Bob and Bill decided to keep jamming every week. They bought recording equipment to record the jams. Over the years, many musicians would participate in the fun. Soon, "regulars" would be there every week. Ed Battle and Bill's nephew Eddie Nowik joined (they became known as Ed square). "Jimmy" and Steve Bastos also became "regulars". At this time it became evident that this improvise music needed a band name. The Mysterious Jazz Babies were born. Dave Koles and Ed O'Brien joined the Babies for our first tour, "The Invisible Tour 2000". Ed Battle died suddenly April 27, 2002. The Mysterious Jazz Babies will continue, and will always remember Ed.

Hailing from Ufa, Russia, multi-instrumentalist Artur Bayramgalin is ready for a start off. At the age of 22, Artur made a name for himself on the Russian music scene performing with many of top artists. He has just recorded his debut album Interro Island in the Breezz Studio, Ufa and fosters his music in all jazz-networks and communities. Artur performs on his new album guitars, keyboards, drum programming, additional vocals and is supported by other musicians on several of the tunes.

Other performances have included the jazz and third stream group the Klein Four, the Junior Mints, Sotto Voce, Stravinsky Rhythm, Marilyn Flanagan, and The Network for New Music at the Painted Bride Art Center.

Born and raised in Israel, Trombonist, composer and bandleader Reut Regev started shaping her impressive reputation on the Jazz scene at a young age. At only five years old she was introduced to the piano, and then added the trombone to her repertoire at age thirteen. While in high school, she had the opportunity to play with some of Israel’s most creatively improvisational musicians, as well as perform at Israel’s top Jazz Festivals. Reut eventually decided to concentrate on her beloved trombone, and has proven to be a remarkably inspiring innovator. After serving in Israel’s army band as first Trombnonist and soloist, Reut made her way to NYC, joining her now husband, drummer Igal Foni.

Reut has been living and creating music in NYC for over a decade, collaborating, recording and touring with some of the finest musicians in various fields, including Latin, Klezmer, Rock, Blues, Jazz, contemporary classical and improvised music. Anthony Braxton, Frank London, Butch Morris, Joe Bataan, Firewater, Elliott Sharp, Dave Douglas, Metropolitan Klezmer, Hazmat Modine and many more have picked Reut as their Trombonist of Choice for tours, recordings and other projects.

Saxman Darron McKinney is a Police Officer for the Detroit School District Police. In the 1980s, he majored in criminal justice and jazz studies at Southern University in Baton Rouge La, under Jazz Master Alvin Batiste of New Orleans. After Leaving Louisiana, he returned to Detroit, quickly getting back into the mainstream. Among the artist he has shared the stage with are Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Jimmy Heath, Roy Ayers, Betty "BEBOP" Carter,Joe Sample, Cuba Gooding Sr., Regina Belle, Mikki Howard and Waymen Tisdale. As a newcomer trying to make inroads into the smooth jazz scene, he's off to an above average start.

"The Return of The Twin" is the follow up release to Ron's debut solo CD, "Biggie Was Here", released in 2003, also on Twin Noir Records.

This time around, Ron's collective work of 16 tracks showcases more of his versatility, and musical influences covering a wide array of sources - from old school, Motown, classical, Hip Hop, jazz, pop, r&b, country, and "movie soundtrack" music. All selections were written and arranged by Ron, except, "Something About U", which Ron co-wrote with his twin brother, Arnold, and their co-writer and former band mate from college, bassist Alvin Taylor. All in all, "The Return Of The Twin" is a very worthy successor to Ron's solo debut release.

Melissa has been described as "an exquisite jazz voice with the ability to communicate with twenty-first century audiences with all the ease of popular music". Her songs have been called "standards in the making", and she has written well over a hundred songs, a remarkable achievement for the artist who started writing fairly late in her career.

Jazz vocalist Melissa Stott's sound has been described both as "sweet and fresh" and "warm and sultry". She is definitely a musicians' singer, keeping the band on their toes. This is a lady, who, once she gets swingin', there's no stopping her.

Aunt Jamamas Big Band Vigilantes are a group of five guys from Seattle, WA. that produce Non-vocal rock/jazz improv w/a side of slow funk.
