Karen Sotomayor
Powerful & soulful vocals in an eclectic mix of rock charged with
strong dynamics and varied tempos. A good party vibe CD!
"I'm charged creatively and ready to experiment!" After a long sabbatical from
music I started writing and recording
again sometime around 1999. I came to the conclusion that I had to
do a lot of things myself. Being an independent performing
singer/songwriter, I put my first solo demo together singing &
playing all the instruments, called it Project Uno.
Late 50's early 60's sounding song which reminds me of Roy Orbison or a darker
version of the Everly Brothers. Tribal drums, harmony vocals and 60's production
values, with the drums and vox highest in the mix. The vocal melody is really
nice and even though the song has a simplistic structure, it keeps it's interest
to the end. Otherwise a cool track. Reviewed by: -

Broomfiller
BROOMFILLER is not just a band. A 3 piece punk-based heavy melodic alternative band.
A band with a psychedelic mix of heavy guitars, light clean tone melodies mixed in
with melodic vocals, soothing bass lines, and rhythmic drumming. A blend of music,
style and performance which enables them to truly stand out. BROOMFILLER was chosen
to play on the Vans Warped Tour ’00 last summer, as well as being the only Canadian
band to play at ‘Kanawhapalooza 2001’ in Charleston, West Virginia in January.
Currently, a band booker, that saw BROOMFILLER play at Kanawhapalooza, is booking
them a tour of Ohio. The buzz about the band just keeps on growing.
"this aggressive trio has all the elements to make an impression on any music
scene" - David Anderson (Alternative.com)
The Good North
They shared a desire to pick up where their favorites left off,
and soon began crafting a unique take on literate yet driving and
bombastic rock and roll. Their soaring emotive vocals and blistering
guitar attack, dirty bass lines and punishing drum sound have created
an instant buzz in Boston. Who know that for a group of humble music
lovers from Boston, they’ve got to work as hard as they can to get
their music heard.
Seiche
Seiche proves that GRUNGE and DARK music really came from
Chicago, Illinois, not Seattle! And 12 years before there ever was Nirvana!
Seiche Lineup Includes: Steve Zahradnik - Guitars & Lead Vocals
Marc Levinson - Drums & Percussion Tom Vess - Bass & Vocals..
Leverton
"Leverton are a 4 piece Alternative band from the outskirts of London.
Inspired by Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins, they were originally
formed in 1998 by Chris (guitar) and Stewart (bass). After the loss of
their original drummer and singer, they were joined by Steve (drums)
and Dan (vocals). As a result their sound matured and their influences
now include everything from Queens of the Stone Age to The Stone Roses
and Lit to Incubus. They are currently gigging in and around London and
are recording a demo this May"
The Coo Coo's
"This powerhouse trio weaves a steady barrage
of eloquent and complex songs, surprising you around every turn
with there innovation and variety. With songs ranging from bratty
punk anthems, reggae dubs, and beautiful instrumental arrangements,
each track leaves a lasting impression, and leaves you wanting more.
I was sad to see the album end. This is a band that is out for world
domination, and determined to have as much fun as possible in the
process.... r.n."
The Smut Project
From powerful vocalists Jason Orr and Brandonn Petri's melodious screaming
and spastic chords to the band's backbones, intense third guitarist Aaron
Orr and frantic drumer Derek x, the Smut Project's sound is gritty, unique
and alive, brought together with a shared inspiration for raw punk rock
and early 1980’s rock and roll.
The Malfated
The Malfated is a guitar-based band from London,
England, who are not afraid to explore both the dark and the light in
both their lyrics and their music. The Malfated are Karl Steiger (Vox),
Paul Tovell (Guitars) and Belle The Expendable Drum Machine (Percussion).
Malfated songs can be fun (Kitty Pink, Cigar, Cocaine & Callgirls),
creepy (Fred West, The Funny Old Man In The Green Monster Suit), darkly
beautiful (Tomorrow, Queen Of Parts) and downright apocalyptic
(Ozymandias, I Am The Doorway).
Lurch
The proof is in the pudding, blending elements of metal, ska, punk,
traditional and progressive rock, Lurch serves of one tasty rock n
roll gumbo! For a relatively new band, Lurch is making steady headway
in the Mid-Atlantic music scene. They recently inked a management deal
with Appleseed Productions, placed in SU's Battle of the Bands and won
96 Rock's "Get in the Ring". Their positive attitude and intense live
show is sure to make them a main stay in the modern rock set.
Emily's ToyBox
Emily's ToyBox IS the new standard in music, fun and entertainment. There are
musicians and there are entertainers. When you combine the BEST of both
worlds....you get the edgy, power-pop, neo-punk phenomena known as Emily's
ToyBox. Add one part irreverent punk personality (front man extraordinaire, Mike
Wise), one part in your face, feet-never-touching the ground guitar maniac
(guitarist Todd Sensenich), two parts dream rhythm section from hell (bassist
Leon Karpovich and Wade Corbin on drums) and what do you have? One hell of a
rock and roll ass-whoopin' you won't soon forget!

Swedish band founded in 1999 with influences like Pearl Jam,
Mudhoney, sonic youth, Nirvana, Soundgarden etc. I'm not gonna sit

together `n all that, cuz no one gives a shit. Not until
were famous anyway. Instead, if you feel an urge for more info,
go check out the webpage you can see pictures, read the full story

the songs from our first demo "to be taken f**ing unseriously".
Jeepers Creepers
About the band: "Spooky Rock" band based in Los Angeles CA. Influences range
from old-school Death Rock (Christian Death, 45 Grave, Bauhaus, Bad Seeds

Scolding Romeo
Around Valentines Day of the the year 2000, Nick wrote a couple
songs("Valentine" and "Thursday Heartbreak") for a Valentine's
present for his ex-girlfriend. Him, Carlos, and Lani were talking
about starting a band...a pop punk band(with emphasis on POP),
and sing about girls--ONLY ABOUT GIRLS. But they needed a perfect
name...after a while they found Scolding Romeo. Lani and Carlos
agreed to record them for their own personal Valentines too.
Needless to say, it sucked, the singing sucked, and it crashed
and burned.
LiquidTripsycle
Their music is from the heart & soul. They put music and words to life
experiences, although some of the songs make you really wonder about their
experiences. Their music is a combination of rock, pop, punk, and grunge.
It's catchy and easy to listen to, mosh to, or sing to.
