Get to know your instructor
I offer an initial "get to know you session" for free, to determine if there's a good match in personalities and musical instruments
between myself and the student. I will assess the students ability and the students instrument and make proper recommendations.
If everything looks like a nice fit we will work on setting up a time which would meet your schedule.

Pricing
Typical costs:
Private guitar lessons run between $15 -$25 a half hour or $20 -$45 for an hour lesson. The price variation is based on
the individuals skill level. I'll break this down below.
Beginning Lessons
Beginning students often take half-hour lessons because an hour can be overwhelming, especially for children.
The cost for a half-hour lesson is only $15.00 and we will meet 4 times a month. Payment is due at the start
of each month.
Beginning students will be learning the very basic chord structures and finger placements. After two lessons
the student will be performing simple songs of interest to their age group.
Intermediate Lessons - level 1
A student which already knows the basic chord structures and can play a few songs would be considered a level 1 intermediate player.
At this level we can work for a full hour each week. Lesson costs are only $25.00 per hour and we meet 4 times a month.
Payment is due at the start of each month.
Unlike the beginning student, I will be expecting more results from this level of student. We will be working on
scales, arpeggios and advanced chord structures (well beyond the A-G-C-D power chords). This level will also include me teaching the student the basics of guitar tabs.
Note: If the student is playing an electric guitar we will be performing with a multi-track recorder so the student can hear the results
of their work. I will keep a recorded copy of each session so both student and teacher can look back and compare growth.
Intermediate Lessons - level 2
A student who can master the basic major and minor scales and already possesses a solid library of songs would be considered
as a level 2 intermediate player. Lesson costs are only $30.00 per hour and we will meet 4 times a month.
Payment is due at the start of each month.
Lessons are much more demanding and material is practiced in REAL TIME, not slowed down to a comfort
level. At this level we will concentrate on advancing the students playing skills as well as an introduction to advanced guitar tabs.
At this level the student will be purchasing a few books to advance their studies.
Expect to spend anywhere from $25 -$100 a year for music books or other materials related to your lessons.
The student will be sent home every week with a song to learn which is within his/her playing ability. I expect the song to be mastered
during that week. At this level we move to a more advanced curriculum. I'll expect dedication to the instrument. Songs will be recorded
and the student will be
expected to play the song along with professionally produced backing tracks. I will record each performance so we can compare advancement over the months.
