Gov't Mule CD
by Gov't Mule
Our Price: $9.89 CD
Usually ships in 1-2 days
Gov't Mule's self-titled debut is a scorching set of heavy blues-rockers. Although they have some difficulty coming up with
memorable original material, the band is loose, funky, gritty, and real. They have enough burning licks to make the record
a worthwhile listen for guitar fanatics. ~ David Jehnzen
Additional personnel includes: John Popper (harmonica).
Government Mule: Warren Haynes (guitar); Allen Woody (bass); Matt Abts (drums).
Personnel: Warren Haynes (vocals, guitar); Matt Abts (drums).
Audio Mixer: Michael Barbiero.
Recording information: Bearsville Sound Studios, Bearsville, NY; River Sound, New York, NY; Telstar Studios, Sarasota, FL.
Photographer: Danny Clinch.Rolling Stone (6/29/95, p.45) - 3 Stars - Good - "...this is the most exciting major-group offshoot
since Hot Tuna evolved out of Jefferson Airplane in the early '70s....the Mule kick with a punishing metal force. Woody and
drummer Matt Abts hammer out a bottom-heavy platform from which Haynes can grandstand..."

One More From The Road: 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition CD
by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Our Price: $19.59 CD
Usually ships in 1-2 days
Recorded live at the Fox Theater, Atlanta, Georgia in July 1976. Originally released on MCA (6001).
Includes original liner notes by Cameron Crowe and reissue liner notes Ron O'Brien.
The '70s was the era of the live album--it seemed like just about every rock band used the format to bolster
its career. But Lynyrd Skynyrd was already established as the premier Southern rock outfit by the time of its
1976 in-concert double album, ONE MORE FROM THE ROAD. What this release did was serve as proof that the non-stop
touring the band had been indulging in since the dawn of the decade had made them an untouchable, rock-solid live act.
These renditions show that the band poured its heart and soul into its live set--the moving "Tuesday's Gone" is
even more gut wrenching than its studio incarnation. "Saturday Night Special" is just as fierce, and "Sweet Home
Alabama" takes on a party atmosphere, while the near 12-minute album closing "Free Bird" stretches to even more
epic proportions than the studio version.
Digitally remastered by Doug Schwartz (Audio Mechanics,Los Angles, California).

Rock N Roll Jesus CD
by Kid Rock
Our Price: $15.19 CD / $9.99 MP3
Usually ships in 1-2 days
.
Once the straight country-rock of his single "Cocky" struck a chord with the public, Kid Rock seemed more interested in filling the shoes
of Southern rock pioneers Lynyrd Skynyrd than upholding his throne as hip-hop's white trash punk. His 2007
album ROCK N ROLL JESUS completes that transition. A big album that bowls straight up the middle, ROCK N ROLL JESUS is Kid's homage
to the grits and gravy of classic rock, a 21st-century update of FM radio fare from the 1970s.
Gone for most part is his hip-hop posturing and in-your-face putdowns; in their place are invocations of Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Steve
Miller, and the like. "All Summer Long," a bouncy, sunny tune that bears a striking resemblance to "Sweet Home Alabama," is a case
in point; while "Roll On" has the smooth-rolling feel of the Eagles' early work. Rock cuts loose, to be sure, as on the head-banging
"So Hott," but even these tracks are injected with a retro feel, summoning classic AC/DC more than anything from the '00's.
Longtime
Rock fans might miss the bad attitude, but fans of classic '70s rock should feel right at home.

Allman Brothers Band CD
by Allman Brothers Band
Our Price: $6.55 CD / $6.39 MP3
Usually ships in 1-2 days
The Allman Brothers Band debut album, like the following three records made by the original Allman Brothers lineup
(which included the late Duane Allman and Berry Oakley), is pretty essential stuff. Included here are all of the elements that
would make LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST one of the greatest live records ever: Duane's searing guitar playing, Gregg's hoarse, soulful
vocals and poetic blues songwriting (both "Dreams" and "Whipping Post," two of his best, are here), and the near-telepathic
interplay among all six members of the band.
In addition to showcasing the band's fine musicianship, and laying down an undeniable series of soulful, hard-edged blues grooves,
THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND may be the founding document of Southern rock. The Allmans' pioneered the sound of twin electric lead
guitars in rock (they got the idea from Bob Wills), and were probably the first to use two drummers. On these earliest recordings
they remain a world away from the stars 'n' bars posturing of their musical descendants. This is true, enduring American music.

Live At Fillmore East CD
by Allman Brothers Band
Our Price: $21.09 CD
Usually ships in 1-2 days
The original Fillmore East album is one of the finest live documents of the rock era, capturing the original line-up of one of the
'70s' tightest outfits before they were cruelly robbed of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. Taken from five 1971 performances at New
York's fabled Fillmore East, the extended and effortlessly melodic workouts of "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" and "Whipping Post"
still have the power to rivet and move.
On display here is the Allmans' fabled chemistry at its finest. The band not only rocks, it rolls, swings, and stretches out in
exploratory, jazzy passages. The dual guitar interplay of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts glides effortlessly over the propulsive
rhythm section of Oakley and twin drummers Jaimoe and Butch Trucks, while Greg Allman's powerful blues voice and melodic keyboard
work provides the icing on the cake. Though the later-released THE FILLMORE CONCERTS presents these songs in their original entirety,
AT FILLMORE EAST, with its seamless edits of multiple performances, may be the superior recording. It highlights all the glint and
sparkle of what still ranks among the best jamming committed to record.

Christmas Time Again CD
by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Our Price: $9.35 CD
/ $9.99 MP3
Usually ships in 1-2 days
A Southern rock Christmas album? Hey, it makes as much sense as Run-DMC's "Christmas in Hollis," and the good news is that the Lynyrd
Skynyrd boys--along with special guests the Charlie Daniels Band and .38 Special--truly get into the spirit with a nice mix of seasonal
standards (rock and otherwise) and originals. Among the latter, the Daniels Band provides a frankly terrifying "Devil Went Down to
Georgia"-derived take on "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," while Skynyrd crunch through Chuck Berry's "Run, Rudolph Run" with Stones-like aplomb.
On the originals front, .38 Special score big with "Mama's Song," a Southern rock power pop hybrid in their best '80s style, although
it must be said that these self-proclaimed wild-eyed Southern boys have a sentimental streak a mile wide (and when their song is
followed by Skynyrd's near-obscene "Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin'," it's a tad disconcertin'...). In any case, the album concludes,
nicely, with a little harmonizing by the entire Skynyrd family (kids, relatives, road crew, dogs, etc). Fun stuff.
Additional personnel includes: Charlie Daniels (vocals, guitar); .38 Special

Nuthin' Fancy CD
by
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Our Price: $6.59 CD
Usually ships in 1-2 days
Besides being a touring warhorse, Lynyrd Skynyrd cranked out albums at a brisk rate during its original lineup's brief recording career,
averaging at least one new release per year. 1975 saw the emergence of Skynyrd's third album in as many years, NUTHIN' FANCY.
While the album didn't contain a smash hit single as had its predecessors ("Free Bird," "Sweet Home Alabama," etc.), it proved to be
another solid collection of tough Southern rock. "Saturday Night Special" remains one of the band's fiercest rockers, while such other
compositions as "On the Hunt" and "Whiskey Rock-A-Roller" have become Skynyrd standards as well.
Recorded at WEBB IV Studios, Atlanta, in January 1975 and Studio One, Doraville, Georgia in August 1974. Bonus live tracks recorded at
Bill Graham's Winterland, San Francisco, California on April 27, 1975. Includes liner notes by Ron O'Brien.
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Ronnie Van Zant (vocals); Allen Collins (guitar, piano, organ, Moog synthesizer, percussion, background vocals); Ed
King (acoustic, electric & slide guitars, Moog bass); Gary Rossington (acoustic & electric guitar); Billy Powell (keyboards);
Leon Wilkeson (bass, background vocals); Artimus Pyle (drums, percussion).
Additional personnel: Barry Harwood (dobro, mandolin); Jimmy Hall (harmonica); David Foster, Billy Powell (piano); Bobbye Hall (percussion).
