Chris Patrick Chamblee
Water u'r wait'n 4
It is always an interesting time when I get to listen to Chris Patrick Chamblee.
This is the first opportunity I have had to review one of his works, though I have
had the chance to listen to his songs in the past. To predict how far the music will go,
or sometimes not go is the part that makes this artist worth a listen.
The disc Water u'r wait'n 4 is a straight forward rocker; with a throw back steady rhythm.
This very electric offering form Chris Patrick Chamblee is an in your face trip. It offers
the listener a fell of the new wave sound of the late 80's as well as a strong basic rock
drive. This makes the music work and the sound engineering also works well on this disc.
As for most singers Chris Patrick Chamblee can easily be recognized by his voice. Though
his voice works well in many of the songs on this disc, it falls short on others. This is
really an interesting difference. When his voice fits the song its like a glove, but when
it doesn't it is as if the singer is slightly detached from his own music.
The area in which this disc shines is in the musicianship on the disc. With all the
driving guitar and percussion this is a good base on which to build.
Water u'r wait'n 4 as a complete work is not exactly what I would keep in my player.
Though I do enjoy the timing and the feel of some parts of the music, the disc does
not seem to flow well from song to song.
It's good enough to give a listen and decide for yourself. Give Water u'r wait'n 4 by
Chris Patrick Chamblee a chance you may hear something you can connect with.
