Online Record Company Moves Forward with Dynamic
Pricing on Downloads
by G-Man
BETA Records teams up with Digonex Technologies to
take the lead in the often controversial arena of
music downloads at variable price points. Can iTunes
and the rest be far behind?
Hollywood, CA -- When BETA Records' new social music
community debuts later this year, the price of music
downloads will be determined using Digonex
Technologies' proprietary pricing service, the Digital
Online Exchange (DOE). The cost of each individual
track will be based on consumer demand and other
factors.
Consumer demand will help determine the price you pay
for music downloads in the upcoming social music
community being launched by BETA Records
(http://www.betarecords.com). BETA's Georg van Handel
(CEO) and Chris Honetschlaeger (President) announced a
partnership with Digonex Technologies, Inc. to provide
dynamically priced music downloads for their
listeners.
Using Digonex's proprietary pricing service called the
Digital Online Exchange (DOE), the price of each
individual track will be based on consumer demand and
other economic factors within BETA's soon-to-be-unveiled
social music community.
For BETA artists, it optimizes their revenue on their
music uploads to the site. DOE allows the fans to have
their musical tastes and preferences play a pivotal
role in the price of each track in BETA's growing
MP3-based catalog of independent music from around the
world.
BETA Records will utilize DOE to enhance a highly
immersive and engaging music experience that creates
close connections between unsigned artists and indie
music fans on the new site slated for release later
this year. Independent artists can easily upload their
music and get exposed to a world-wide audience.
"We selected Digonex after careful evaluation and feel
strongly that they have exactly the right technology
to power the pricing model of our upcoming social
music community," said Chris Harper, CXO (Chief
Experience Officer) with BETA Records, LLC.
"We are excited to power BETA Records' dynamic pricing
service and believe that the new site will appeal to a
wide range of music fans," said Rex Fisher, VP of
Business Development with Digonex Technologies, Inc.
