  •  The Bill Carrera CD Reviews

Welcome to the EvO:R Carrera Reviews Section.
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Bill Carrera and I am the new music reviewer here at Evor. I wanted to let you know a little about my thoughts on music. It's important to let the people that I review know how I think of and listen to music.
First of all I believe that if your music sucks then the world should know about it! After all, you have the nerve to charge as much for your stuff as the majors do so it better be pretty damn good, and if it is, I'll also tell the world. I'll hold nothing back!

Let me start by saying, very interesting art. You guys gots a real proffessional package. Yeah, I get it and it doesn't disturb me even though you think it should, Brier Lupin, but I am a sucker for catchy eye candy.

This disc starts off sounding like something off the Six-String Samari soundtrack. OK, now you've got my attention. Then there's this bounce over which lands on this B-52s "i'm not gay, or am I" groove. But wait, let's bounce again, now "We are not men, we are Devo, but we get girls" kind of thing. No Jupiter, I'm not busting on you guys and gal. This is one of the most interesting, enjoyable listens I've had in a while. After endless hours of top 40 mindless dribble on every radio station, American Idol commercials which have invaded our news media at the point of being more important than murder, which isn't a bad idea when applied with the latter, and countless car commercials that make ageless classic rock songs seem old, I needed this refreshment. I like the way Jupiter can think for themselves. Makes me wish it was a disease that was rapidly spreading.

Still, I'm left with one question. Is there a written or un-written rule somewhere that every person or group that puts out an album must use a mega-phone on it at some point. Call me crazy, but these things I must know. Here's a pointer, and yes, you may quote me,"If the rule is written, please ignore it, if it's un-written forget about it. Mega-phones are un-original, annoying, and should only be used for crowd control. Right Adolph?" If you come across a producer that even hints that a mega-phone should be used, take turns pounding him/her in the head with a rolled up Sunday Paper wrapped around a digital delay rack unit until his/her skull is fractured. Just a suggestion. Why am I saying all this. Hey, Jupiter, you have a solid product, a cool image, great ideas, a big sound, good pipes, all the tools, and originality on your side. Don't lower yourself with parlor tricks. You have no need for them, and you've won a fan.
    End.
