The Bill Carrera CD Reviews
Welcome to the EvO:R Carrera Reviews Section.
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Bill
Carrera and I am the new music reviewer here at Evor. I wanted to let you know a little
about my thoughts on music. It's important to let the people that I review know how I
think of and listen to music. First of all I believe that if your music sucks then
the world should know about it! After all, you have the nerve to charge as much for
your stuff as the majors do so it better be pretty damn good, and if it is, I'll also
tell the world. I'll hold nothing back!

Review of Touch Of Life & Crossin' On Over -
by Vicki Lee
Female led c&w at its finest. Vicki's voice is reminiscent of greats like Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn.
Backed by a band that never misses a cue, this is a winning combination for sure.
Vicki proves to be very versatile over the duration of these cds. Posessing an amazing range and a tone
that never falters, no matter where in that range it finds itself ... she even growls with amazing tone.
These cds deliver a full range of emotional experience, from joy of birth through new and lost love on
to pain of the loss of loved ones and to wistful memories of those gone on to that great opry in the sky.
If you like c&w even a tiny little bit, you're going to absolutely love both of these cds.
Hop on your horse and go buy 'em, pard.

Review of Needle and the Pain Reaction -
by Pheromone
I was really excited about giving this a listen. I like the cd cover. Basic,
but too the point design that let's me know just what kind of band this is
before I know what they sound like, my guess is gravel vocal garage style
drug rock with an odd time signature or three. More on the guessing part
later. At any rate, this is exactly the kind of thing that attracts an eye.
I also got a prize. A very cool sticker that looks right at home on my
guitar case. Yes it's that cool. Cool enough that I didn't mind it covering
up the corner of my KMFDM sticker.
Now as far as the prize goes, that doesn't score you any points with this
review, but it does say that this band is confident enough for a leap into
marketing. A leap far too many bands never make. You'll always get kudos for
that. I'll put it this way. Know that girl that you won't be seen in public
with, but rather than spend a weekend alone, you invite her over for a movie
or two and a veg-session of nachos. Pretty soon she'll get enough of that,
and tell your sorry can all about it, that's why you bought that cheap
electro-plated heart shaped watch with the immitation leather band for her.
She'll get enough sooner or later, but in the meantime, you get a good
report with all of her friends that you would date. Why? Marketing. Just
think, you have already learned a trade secret and all it cost was a cool
free sticker. See how it works?
OK, as promised here's more on the guessing part I briefly mentioned
earlier. I put this disc in my home stereo, got a display full of Disc
Error. Try again, and again, and again. No dice. On the computer, Disc
Error. My son's computer, Disc Error. Car stereo, ERR. DVD player, 14
tracks, now we're getting somewhere, but wait, no audio, then Disc Error.
Kinky Star Records should check with the manufacturer. I gave it a valiant
effort guys. This disc simply wouldn't work for me. Send me a working disc
and I'll be more than happy to complete this review. I actually wonder what
Needle and the Pain Reaction sounds like. In the meantime, thanks for the
wonderful parting gift. Getting alot of mileage out of that sticker aren't
you. See how it works?
